Letter from the Director
Landscape architecture is one of the most dynamic and exciting design disciplines in the world today. The profession is expanding in scope from its traditional concerns of parks, gardens and public spaces to include infrastructure, post-industrial sites and the landscape of urban settlements.
At LSU we are concerned with key themes of urbanization, the impact of global environmental change, cultural phenomena and the application of new technology. Our pedagogy combines an emphasis on academic rigor with the flexibility to work with individual students in developing their potential. Our core programs are focused on critical thinking, communication, technology and design craft.
Our graduates practice all over the world, across the full spectrum of the discipline of landscape architecture, and while in school, students have many opportunities for travel and exploration beyond the campus.
This website will give you a view into the Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture and its graduate and undergraduate programs. Our School is in a time of expansion and growth with exciting new faculty and facilities as well as a respected tradition of over 60 years teaching students in landscape architecture. We are preparing students to be the next generation of great designers, planners and builders, offering new perspectives and opportunities in the practice of landscape architecture.
